Woman Robbed At Gunpoint While Pumping Gas: Hamden Police

Police say the woman was robbed of her vehicle at gunpoint while she was pumping gas at a 7-Eleven during the overnight hours in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — A woman was robbed of her vehicle at gunpoint while she was pumping gas at a 7-Eleven early Tuesday morning, according to police. At around 4:15 a.m. on June 9, police responded to the 7-Eleven at 1795 Dixwell Ave. on the report of a stolen vehicle, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Police found that a 38-year-old Hamden resident was pumping gas when she was approached by suspect who pointed a gun at her head, according to Smith. The suspect then reached into her pocket and took the keys to her vehicle, Smith said. He then stole her vehicle and drove away southbound on Dixwell Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male, 15 to 16 years old, 5-feet, 4-inches tall, weighing 100 pounds with “dark curly hair,” according to Smith.

There were no reported injuries. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.

A similar incident happened in Woodbridge early Thursday morning.
