Woman Shot As Bullet Enters Her Home: Hamden Police
Police said the victim didn't appear to be the target of the shooting.
HAMDEN, CT — A 37-year-old woman was shot while she was inside her home, police said.
At 10 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the area of Butler and Goodrich streets on multiple reports of shots fired, police said. Police said they found ballistic evidence in the street and surrounding area. Police said they also discovered that a gunshot victim was inside her Butler Street residence at the time of the shooting.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that she was struck by a bullet that penetrated the wall of her house," police said. "It does not appear that she was the intended target of the shooting."

The victim was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder, police said.
Detectives from the Hamden Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are actively working on this investigation, police said.
