Woman Shot While Lying In Bed: Hamden Police
Police say the woman was struck by gunshots that were fired from outside of a home in Hamden early Friday morning.
HAMDEN, CT — A woman was shot in both of her feet while lying in bed from gunshots that were fired from outside of a home on Dix Street early Friday morning, according to police. At about 2 a.m. on Feb. 22, Hamden Police responded to a Dix Street residence on the report of “shots fired,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a 21-year-old Hamden resident was lying in bed in a basement apartment when several gunshots were fired from outside of the home. The female victim, who was visiting, was struck “in both of her feet,” according to Smith.
Hamden Fire Rescue responded and rendered medical assistance. The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment, according to Smith.

Smith said Officer Peter Conti and his K-9 partner “Maverick” conducted a track that was unsuccessful.
