Yoga for Depression & Anxiety

A gentle class to help manage the symptoms of depression and anxiety

Almost everyone experiences depression and/or anxiety at some point in their life. Symptoms can include persistent sadness, feelings of hopelessness, lack of enjoyment or pleasure in activities, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, insomnia, restlessness, and more. Studies of the effect of yoga on depression and anxiety suggest that the regular practice of yoga can be useful in the reduction of these symptoms. Students will learn specific yoga forms, breathing techniques and mindfulness meditation. This class is suitable for all levels. Students with mobility concerns are welcome to use a chair. No previous yoga experience necessary. (Please consult your therapist or health care provider before enrolling to determine whether yoga is appropriate for you at this time.)
