If your monthly income is less than $2,413.26 you are entitled to get your Medicare for free! In addition, you can have your prescription drug co-pays limited to $2.65 per generic drug and $6.60 for brand name drugs. The Medicare Savings Program provides benefits in CT to any Medicare recipient with income below the $2,413.26 level, no matter what their personal assets may be. Your home, car, bank account, life insurance, stocks, bonds, IRA,s don't affect your eligibility for the program. It only counts your income. If you're part of a couple, your combined income must be less than $3,266.68 per month. For individuals with substantially lower incomes, there are even greater saving on health care costs.
