1 Charged Following Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash In East Hartford
Police said the crash happened Friday shortly before 7:40 p.m. near the intersection of Long Hill Drive and Burnside Avenue.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — One person is dead and another is facing charges following a hit-and-run crash in East Hartford.
According to police, the crash happened Friday shortly before 7:40 p.m. near the intersection of Long Hill Drive and Burnside Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from serious injuries. According to police, the suspect vehicle also fled the scene following the crash.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died, police said.

The Metro Regional Crash Team responded to assist with the investigation. The intersection was shut down and reopened just before 1 a.m.
A short time later, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle as well as its driver. Nana Oppong-Bonsu, 43, of East Hartford, was arrested for evading responsibility, police said.
