1 Dead, 4 Others Injured At South End Hartford Nightclub
A fatal shooting took place early Sunday morning at the Majestic Lounge in Hartford, according to police.
HARTFORD, CT — A 28-year-old man was killed and four other people were also shot in an incident that took place in a South End nightclub early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers were called to the Majestic Lounge at 451 Franklin Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
According to police, two of the other victims were still in surgery as of 7:30 a.m., and the other two are in stable condition.

A Hartford police spokesperson told the Hartford Courant that officers were already outside the club, when the shots were fired inside the establishment. Police had been patrolling the area due to prior incidents and shootings at the Majestic Lounge.
Officers attempted to rush in, but were met with a large number of people running towards the exit, police Lt. Paul Cicero told the Associated Press. Officers were however able to provide immediate medical attention to the victims.

"Hartford Police Officers who were at the club responded immediately, running in the direction of gunfire, and their heroic efforts have prevented further loss of life," Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin said in a statement.
Franklin Avenue was closed to traffic, but was reopened around 7:00 a.m.
The identity of the victim who was fatally shot has not been released. Additionally, there are no reports of an arrest and police have not identified a suspect in the attack.
