18-Year-Old East Hartford Man Killed In I-84 Crash: State Police
An East Hartford man died in a three-vehicle accident Thursday evening.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford man was killed in a crash on I-84 Thursday evening, according to state police.
A Honda Accord was traveling in the center lane of I-84 westbound near exit 56 in East Hartford at 5:45 p.m. For an unknown reason, the Honda struck a semi-truck's rear, which was also driving in the center lane.
The Honda then veered across traffic into the left lane, returned to the center lane, and hit a tractor-trailer.

The Honda's driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital.
The Honda's passenger, Yomar Berrios, 18, of East Hartford, was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No one else was injured in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
