19 Local Teams Still In the Hunt for State Titles
Thirteen area basketball and hockey teams have qualified for the finals or semifinals, with 6 boys hoop teams in quarterfinal action Monday.

As the CIAC state basketball and hockey tournaments wind to their conclusions this weekend, more than a dozen teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties are still alive in either the finals or semifinals, with six boys basketball teams looking to advance into semifinal play Monday.
Fifth-seeded Hall High School will meet No. 2 Mercy for the Class LL girls basketball championship either Saturday or Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Arena. All other area schools listed are semifinalists.

Four quarterfinal boys basketball contests scheduled for Monday involve teams from the area:

- No. 6 Glastonbury at No. 3 Wethersfield, 7 p.m.
- No. 26 Rocky Hill at No. 2 St. Bernard, 7 p.m.
- No. 3 Wilcox Tech vs. No. 6 SMSA, at Platt HS, 7:15 p.m.
