2,000-Plus Bags of Heroin Intercepted in Hartford

Police seized large stashes of heroin in a pair of busts.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police on Tuesday said they took more than 2,000 bags of heroin off the streets in one of two drug-related arrests.

The HPD Vice and Narcotics squad hit what Deputy Chief Brian Foley called a "hot spot" on Westland Street overnight and confiscated 2,051 bags of heroin. The stash also included two large rolls of cash that featured several $100 bills, he said.

In another overnight arrest, at 371 Garden St. — a location just a few doors down from a recent homicide — police seized heroin, crack cocaine, $5,000 in cash and a stolen 9mm handgun, Foley said.
