2 Hartford Men Indicted On Drug Trafficking Charges: Feds
Nine men from around the state have been indicted on drug trafficking charges.
HARTFORD, CT — Two Hartford men have been indicted on federal drug trafficking charges, according to a statement from prosecutors. Luis Carrasquillo, aka “Cuchi,” 49, and Jashua Carasquillo, aka "Chuy," 25 were charged with conspiracy to distribute, and to possess with intent to distribute, various quantities of cocaine or crack-cocaine.
A total of nine men from around the state have been charged in the case which stems from an investigation led by the FBI and the Norwich, New London, and Hartford Police Departments into a drug distribution network that stretched from southeastern Connecticut to the Hartford, New Britain, and Waterbury areas.
If convicted, Jashua Carasquillo faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years. Luis Carrasquillo faces a mandatory term of 15 years based on his criminal record.
In March, police raided Hartford and New Britain homes in the case, seizing approximately three kilograms of cocaine and nearly $100,000 in cash.
