The 2025 Black Family Wellness Expo

A Celebration of Health, Wellness, and Community Empowerment - March 15 - 10am-2pm - Artists Collective

The Farmington Valley (CT) Chapter and Greater Hartford (CT) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated are set to host the 2025 Black Family Wellness Expo, a transformative event designed to empower Black families through holistic health, education, and community support. Taking place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Artists Collective in Hartford, CT, this free community event will provide attendees with access to health screenings, educational workshops, interactive activities, and valuable community resources.

Recognizing the importance of health equity and early prevention, the Expo offers a comprehensive approach to wellness, focusing on mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, social, financial, and environmental health. To further support the well-being of attendees, a complimentary nutritious lunch will be provided, ensuring that everyone can nourish both body and mind while engaging in this impactful event.

A Community-Centered Approach to Wellness

For years, the Black Family Wellness Expo has been a beacon of education, empowerment, and action in addressing health disparities in Black communities. By bringing together local healthcare professionals, wellness advocates, and community organizations, the event aims to bridge gaps in healthcare access and provide families with the tools they need to live healthier lives.

What Attendees Can Expect

The 2025 Expo is designed to be informative, interactive, and inspiring, with a variety of offerings, including:

  • Health & Wellness Screenings – Free, on-site screenings including blood pressure checks, blood glucose tests, nutrition counseling, mental health screenings, oral health assessments, and posture evaluations. Additionally, optional vaccinations for flu, pneumonia, COVID-19, and RSV will be available, along with rapid screenings for Hepatitis C and HIV.
  • Educational Panel – Expert-led discussions on caregiving and dementia.
  • Interactive Activities – Chair Yoga, Martial Arts/ Defense Training, Line Dancing and Double Dutch
  • Community Resource Fair – A chance to connect with local organizations offering support services in health, education, financial well-being and more.
  • Free Nutritious Lunch – A healthy meal provided to all attendees to promote the importance of good nutrition in overall wellness (while supplies last)
