For the 3rd Year, Hartford HealthCare will Empower the Next Generation of Healthcare Students
Day-long event offered hands-on healthcare training and career exploration
HARTFORD, Conn. — October 2, 2026 — Hartford HealthCare and ReadyCT hosted their 3rd annual “Create Your Path: Careers in HealthCare Summit” at Hartford Hospital.
65 students from Hartford Public, East Hartford, New Britain, and Norwich Free Academy took part in a full day of hands-on training and career exploration in the healthcare sector.
The students involved are part of the Allied Health Program offered by ReadyCT, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering academic excellence and career-connected learning across Connecticut’s public schools.

During the 2025–26 school year, Hartford HealthCare-supported events through the ReadyCT partnership engaged 870 students, including 561 unique students. Additionally, 477 students were enrolled in a Hartford HealthCare-sponsored Allied Health pathway across four partner schools: New Britain High School, Hartford Public High School, East Hartford High School, and Norwich Free Academy.
Of those students, 44 completed a Hartford HealthCare internship, and two students from that internship went on to become Hartford HealthCare employees.

Students connected with healthcare professionals, learn about career and networking opportunities after graduation, and discover Hartford HealthCare benefits, including tuition reimbursement.
Students also took part in a variety of interactive workshops focused on important life and career skills, including LIFESTAR, CESI, Stop the Bleed, financial literacy, talent development, and professionalism.
This summit promises to ignite passion and ambition in students, providing them with the tools and knowledge to envision a future in healthcare.
