5 Alleged Latin King Members Indicted

They face up to life in prison for a kidnapping, according to an indictment.

HARTFORD,CT — Five alleged Latin King gang members were federally indicted on kidnapping and firearm charges.

The indicted include Luis Pitt aka “Macho” and “Cuz-o,” Jonthan Otero aka “Jax” Pedro Carillo aka “P,” Anthony Carillo aka “Boogie” and Josue Franco aka “Sway.”

Pitt and Anthony Carillo were arrested Thursday. The rest were previously in state custody on unrelated offenses.
A victim was lured to a Benton Street resident in Hartford on Jan. 26, 2018, according to the indictment. Pitt, Otero, Anthony Carillo and Franco then threatened, assaulted and tortured the victim, the indictment alleges.
The victim was forced to call his father and demand ransom and was threatened with injury or death if his family didn’t comply.

Eventually the victim escaped after being moved to several different locations.

All five men were charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, one count of carrying and using a firearm in during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

They face a minimum of seven years in prison if convicted on the firearm offense and up to life on the kidnapping offense.
