5 Shot, 1 Dead On Sunday Morning, Hartford Police Say
One victim is in critical condition, police said.
HARTFORD, CT — Five people were shot and one person died, early Sunday, Hartford police said.
At 1:40 a.m. Sunday, police responded to 737 Wethersfield Avenue following a ShotSpotter notification.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd and located an unresponsive gunshot victim, police said. The victim was pronounced deceased by responding EMS personnel, police said.

Four additional gunshot victims arrived at area hospitals by private vehicles:
• A male in his thirties — stable condition

• A male in his twenties — stable condition
• A male in his thirties — critical but stable condition
• An adult female — stable condition
A total of five people suffered gunshot wounds during the incident, police said.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and have assumed the investigation.
