All Invited to April 29 Urban League of Greater Hartford's Wellness Wednesday

Free Community Health Event Celebrates Annual Minority Health Month

On Wednesday, April 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Urban League of Greater Hartford invites everyone to its annual Wellness Wednesday community event. Hosted every April during National Minority Health Month and Physical Wellness Month, will once again promote the Eight (8) Dimensions of Wellness: Physical; Social; Emotional; Intellectual; Environmental; Financial; Occupational; and Spiritual.

The free event will be held at the organization's offices at 140 Woodland St. in Hartford outdoors in the Sargeant Street side Parking Lot. (Raindate: Wednesday, May 6)

As families engage in activities and gain insight into individual health and community well-being, this event underscores that within our economic empowerment efforts, “There’s Wellness in the Movement.” Through comprehensive direct services and local connections, the Urban League continues to foster a value for economic self-reliance through education, employment, housing, health, and justice.

More than 20 community partners will be onsite offering: ·Free Fresh Produce; ·Medical Advice; ·Health Screenings; ·Live Cooking Demonstration; ·Personal Trainer Tips & Techniques; ·Fitness Demonstrations & Line Dancing;·Massages; ·and a variety of Vendors, exhibits, community resources and information.
