Manchester Teen Dies After Last Week's Motorcycle Crash In Hartford: Police: UPDATE

Hartford police are investigating a fatal crash involving a dirt bike and motor vehicle that has now killed a 17-year-old Manchester male.

HARTFORD, CT — A Manchester teenager riding a dirt bike in Hartford last week died over the weekend as a result of the May 5 accident, police said Monday morning.

The Hartford Police Department is investigating the fatal crash that involved a motor vehicle and a dirt bike that left a 17-year-old Manchester resident dead.

On Saturday, May 9, the motorcycle operator died from his injuries, police said in a release Monday morning.

Authorities identified the victim as Elijah Santiago, 17, of Manchester.

Officers responded Tuesday night, May 5, to the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Standish Street on a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found the motorcycle operator unresponsive at the scene.

The teen was transported to an area hospital and was initially listed in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division continues to investigate the crash.
