2. Hartford Animal Control may euthanize healthy dogs as dumping crisis fills kennels (wfsb.com) — Hartford Animal Control says its kennels are so full of dumped dogs that, for the first time in about a decade, healthy animals may have to be euthanized. Officers report dogs abandoned in Hartford cemeteries and Keney Park, and are urgently asking residents to adopt or share adoption posts. Dogs cost $50 and come with a medical voucher to offset vet expenses.
3. Hartford Public Schools face $89M deficit, district seeks state support and structural changes (fox61.com) — Hartford Public Schools are staring at an $89 million deficit over the next two years, even after new state and city funding, and may seek state oversight to stabilize finances. District leaders warn a large shortfall remains, raising concerns about staffing, student support services, and food programs.
