HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police are investigating two separate shootings this week that sent two women to the hospital.
Early Thursday morning, officers responded to the area of 184 Westland St. after receiving a ShotSpotter notification indicating gunfire in the area, the Hartford Police Department reported Thursday morning.
A short time later, a woman in her 20s arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation.
Police said the investigation remains active. No arrests have been announced.
The shooting follows another non-fatal shooting reported earlier this week in Hartford on Tuesday, May 26.
Nelson Street shooting
Hartford police are investigating a shooting reported Tuesday near Nelson Street, according to authorities.
Officers responded to the area of 175 Nelson St. after receiving a ShotSpotter notification indicating possible gunfire.
While officers were investigating the scene, police learned that a woman in her 30s with a gunshot wound was being transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle.
Police said the victim sustained a single gunshot wound and was alert and conscious upon arriving at the hospital.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation.
Authorities said the investigation remains active. No arrests have been announced.
