There are now only three such restaurants in Connecticut.

| Updated

HARTFORD, CT — The Denny's restaurant in Hartford's Charter Oak Marketplace has permanently closed, reducing the chain's Connecticut footprint to three remaining locations.

The restaurant, located at 539 Flatbush Ave., was one of four Denny's locations operating in the state.

Its closure leaves restaurants in Middletown, New London and Southington as the only remaining Denny's locations in Connecticut.

The nearest active locations for Hartford-area customers are at 621 Queen St. in Southington, about 13 miles away, and 655 S. Main St. in Middletown, about 15 miles away.

Both restaurants operate 24 hours a day.

A third Connecticut location remains open at 321 S. Frontage Road in New London.

Denny's, which brands itself as "America's diner," is known for serving breakfast throughout the day and operating many locations around the clock.

The restaurant chain is particularly recognized for its customizable Grand Slam breakfast meals and its role as a late-night dining option for travelers, families and shift workers.
