World Cup Fever To Hit Hartford Area With Several Soccer Watch Parties Planned

Free soccer watch parties begin this week on Pratt Street in Hartford, featuring food, drinks, and tournament match broadcasts.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford-area soccer fans will have a new place to gather this summer as a series of free World Cup watch parties kicks off on Pratt Street.

Home to the USL professional soccer franchise Hartford Athletic, Hartford is definitely a diverse community that leans heavily in favor of the beautiful game.

The Hartford Chamber of Commerce announced that the first event will take place June 12 for the United States men's national team's match against Paraguay. The game is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., with pregame festivities starting at 7:30 p.m.

Organizers are encouraging fans to visit downtown Hartford to watch the match while enjoying food and drinks from Pratt Street businesses.

The watch parties are part of Hartford's 'Summer of Soccer' programming and will continue throughout the tournament.

The events are being presented with support from premier sponsor LAZ Parking. Additional supporting sponsors include All Waste Inc., Hartford HealthCare and Lexington Partners LLC.

Host partners include the City of Hartford, FOX61, the Pratt Street Merchants Association, Michelob Ultra and the American Outlaws Hartford Chapter.
