An awards ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and will include the presentation of the Annual Exum Award, which honors former RTX executive and Urban League board member Earl Exum and his family.

The free Movement Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring fitness demonstrations, health information, fresh produce, arts and crafts, live entertainment, community resources, and music by DJ Sammie Soca.

New this year, Hartford Parks and Recreation will open the Keney Park swimming pool for race participants and festival attendees.

Organizers encourage visitors to bring swimsuits and towels to enjoy the facility.

The festival will also feature the Urban League Young Professionals YP Games, where registered teams will compete in a series of recreational challenges.

"We look forward to welcoming community members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to run or walk with us and celebrate the fifth year of this unique event with our partners at the Urban League of Greater Hartford," Hartford Marathon Foundation President Josh Miller said in a statement.

"For the Urban League, 'The Movement' has always been about empowering communities and changing lives, so MOVE! acknowledges the way wellness extends beyond physical fitness and into our learning, work-life balance, environment, and overall citizenship," Urban League of Greater Hartford President and CEO David Hopkins said.

Registration for the 5K and 1-mile run/walk costs $25 for adults, $15 for participants ages 13 to 21, and is free for children 12 and younger. Admission to the Movement Festival is free.

Proceeds from the event support the Urban League of Greater Hartford's education, employment, housing, health, and justice programs, which are provided at no cost to participants.
