HARTFORD, CT — A man in his 20s was hospitalized after being shot in Hartford Monday afternoon, according to police.
Hartford Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Brook Street and Mather Street at about 12:13 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, after receiving a ShotSpotter notification, police said.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was alert and conscious at the scene and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to police.
Authorities did not provide additional information about his condition.
The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions responded and have taken over the investigation.
Police did not release information about a possible suspect or the circumstances leading to the shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
