Twenty people displaced after fire in multifamily home (wfsb.com) โ€” Twenty Hartford residents, including nine children, were displaced Friday morning after a fire damaged a multifamily home on Franklin Avenue, though everyone escaped without injury. City fire crews rescued several pets, one of which needed veterinary care, and officials have deemed the building uninhabitable while the Red Cross and Hartford's Special Services Unit arrange temporary lodging and support.

West Hartford Parents Invited to Learn About Hidden Risks of AI and Social Media - We-Ha (we-ha.com) โ€” West Hartford parents are being invited to a Sept. 15 evening program at Town Hall focused on how AI and social media affect kids' mental health and safety. Local organizers and experts will share practical tools, including their LIFT framework, to help families manage screen time, spot misleading online content, and start better conversations with teens about digital life.

Man critically injured in East Hartford billiards shooting (fox61.com) โ€” A man is in critical condition after being shot early Sunday at Dugout Billiards on Burnside Avenue in neighboring East Hartford, a short drive from Hartford. Police say no arrests have been made yet and are still investigating what led to the disturbance and gunfire, while assuring the public that detectives are actively working the case.

Street outside Hartford police headquarters renamed to honor Bobby Garten (wtnh.com) โ€” In downtown Hartford, High Street outside police headquarters has been officially renamed Bobby Garten Way to honor the detective killed in the line of duty three years ago.
