Fire Breaks Out In Office At Hartford Auto Business: HFD

HARTFORD, CT — A fire broke out in a second-floor office above a Hartford automotive business Monday night, but no injuries were reported, according to the Hartford Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to 907 Maple Ave. shortly after 9:44 p.m. following a report of a fire.

Arriving crews found an active fire in a second-floor office space above Goodwin Automotive and declared a working fire, officials said.

Firefighters initially received a report that someone was trapped inside the building.

That person, however, was able to evacuate before fire crews arrived, according to the department.

The fire was contained to one room, with firefighters using one handline to extinguish the blaze.

Crews searched the building and found no one else inside, officials said.

No civilians or firefighters were injured, and no one needed to be relocated as a result of the fire.

The Hartford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
