Prosecutors say the case involved women housed by the defendant and advertised online for sexual services, with sentencing now scheduled in Hartford this December.
   

2. Dominican National With Prior Hartford Drug Conviction Sentenced For Illegal Reentry: Feds (patch.com) — Hartford-area readers may note that a Dominican national with a prior Hartford drug trafficking conviction has been sentenced in federal court in Hartford to 21 months for illegally reentering the United States. Authorities say he was stopped in West Hartford during a drug trafficking investigation, found unlawfully present with false identification, and has been detained since his March arrest.
   

3. First-Time Home Buyers Get A Break In Hartford (patch.com) — Hartford residents looking to buy their first home could benefit from a new $500,000 Greater Hartford Gives Foundation grant that will fund zero-interest down payment and closing-cost loans for lower-income households. Combined with state and city grants, HDF is also backing construction of up to 25 new affordable ownership units in Hartford and supporting additional projects in neighborhoods like Clay Arsenal and Northeast.
   

4. Freightliner dealer proposes 55K-sq.-ft. expansion of East Hartford truck parts sales, repair facility (hartfordbusiness.com) — A major expansion is planned for Freightliner of Hartford's East Hartford truck parts and repair facility, with a proposal to more than triple its size on Roberts Street. The project, up for Planning and Zoning Commission review on Oct. 14, would add parking, EV charging, and site improvements, while town engineers scrutinize stormwater and access details that could affect nearby residents and businesses.

(ctmirror.org) — Hartford ranks among Connecticut's three most walkable cities, scoring above 70 on a national walkability scale and earning a "very walkable" label.
