The Carrabba Foundation is named for the late Dr. Angelo Carrabba, an obstetrician-gynecologist who practiced at Saint Francis Hospital and served as president of the medical staff. Both in his personal and professional life, Dr. Carrabba routinely and quietly gave generously to people in need.
“We thank The Carrabba Foundation and the charitable mission they continue to carry on in Dr. Carrabba’s legacy,” said Thomas Burke, BPharm, MBA, President of Saint Francis Hospital. “The Joan C. Dauber Food Pantry is a vital organization in the Greater Hartford area, and the collaboration with The Carrabba Foundation will help provide even more assistance to the food insecure members of our local community.”

The Carrabba Foundation is expanding on Dr. Carrabba’s lifelong service by ensuring that even more families receive a nutritious, traditional meal for the Thanksgiving holiday. Each meal includes a turkey and fresh assorted vegetables and sides from Sardilli Produce and Dairy.
The Foundation has planned this donation to become an annual gift, in order to continue the doctor’s legacy of service. The family is going public to encourage others to support the Foundation in order to help more families in the Greater Hartford area partake in the nourishment of body, heart, and soul that Dr. Carrabba championed.
“We look forward to assisting those in need and are committed to serving the community at large for the remainder of this holiday season and for many years to come,” said Stephen Carrabba, a son of Dr. Carrabba. “My father was one man making his mark to serve others. During this difficult time, it takes more than one – it takes everyone who can.”
The Carrabba Foundation encourages anyone who can contribute at any level to donate to the Angelo Carrabba, MD Foundation meals contribution project. Charitable donations can be made directly to the nonprofit organization at www.ascmd.org. The Joan C. Dauber Food Pantry at Saint Francis Hospital is also accepting donations throughout this holiday season.
