Area United Way To Host Massive 48-Hour Fundraising Campaign
United Way launches '860 Gives,' a 48-hour online drive supporting more than 100 nonprofits in central and eastern CT.
GREATER HARTFORD, CT — The Hartford-based United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut will launch a 48-hour online fundraising campaign aimed at supporting more than 100 nonprofits across 56 communities.
The initiative, known as 860Gives, is scheduled to run from 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, through 6 a.m. Thursday, April 2.
Donors will be able to give directly to participating organizations through the campaign’s online platform, while a real-time leaderboard tracks contributions.

Organizers say the format is designed to encourage engagement and friendly competition among nonprofits.
Participating organizations will also be eligible for matching gifts and in-kind prizes provided by sponsors.

According to organizers, the campaign is intended to generate unrestricted funding, allowing nonprofits flexibility to meet community needs.
