A Bloomfield insurance company has announced all its employees will need to be vaccinated or be tested weekly.

BLOOMFIELD, CT — Cigna Corp., a Bloomfield-based business, announced that it is requiring employees get the COVID-19 vaccine or be tested weekly prior to entering any of its worksites across the country, The Hartford Business Journal reported. The vaccine mandate for remote employees entering any U.S. office will begin Sept. 7.

Employees whose roles must be performed on-site, like medical care providers and pharmacists, will need to be fully vaccinated or test negative for COVID-19 twice weekly beginning Oct. 18.

The company has held vaccination clinics across the county and offered a $200 incentive award to employees who got the vaccine, The Hartford Business Journal reported.
