East Hartford PD To Host 'Coffee With A Cop' Event At Dunkin'
The annual event is designed to improved police/community communications in a relaxing environment.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — The next East Hartford Police Department "Coffee with a Cop" event takes place on National Coffee with a Cop Day, Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 08 to 10 a.m.
The event will be at East Hartford’s Main Street Dunkin’ location: 639 Main St., East Hartford.
"Coffee with a Cop" began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016 and now continues each year on the first Wednesday in October.

Its aim is to further efforts nationwide to bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement.
Since that day in 2016, the East Hartford Police Department has hosted regular programs dedicated to encouraging communication and positive interactions between law enforcement and the public.

“Open dialogue is imperative when trying to establish trust, especially when it comes to community policing. 'Coffee with a Cop' is fantastic way to start a meaningful and productive conversation within a casual, relaxed atmosphere,” said EHPD Chief Scott Sansom.
“We encourage everyone within this community to please stop by for a chat. Everyone is welcome.”
