The beloved New England road race tradition delivers a top-notch experience with great attention to detail to support the safety and enjoyment of participants, volunteers and spectators with well supported courses, thorough medical and security services and a great celebration. Many options are available to engage with community charities, enhance the race experience with extras or participate in one of two available multi-race series to add challenge goals and rewards.
Be inspired in Hartford with a glorious start in front of the majestic Capitol. Marathon and half marathon courses venture into the welcoming neighborhoods of West Hartford, full of cheering race spectators, with a short pass through beautiful Elizabeth Park in West Hartford.
Marathoners veer off from half marathon participants and head over the Founders Bridge, traveling along the scenic East Hartford side of the river before hitting the rural and serene town roads of South Windsor, where the course highlights its quintessential New England charm. Journey back to Hartford to finish just past the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Arch in Bushnell Park and celebrate with food and music in the park and beer garden festivities.
The 13.1 mile course will split from the marathon in Hartford, about 8 miles in, before half marathoners enjoy a run along the river. The downtown Hartford finish delivers that joyous and memorable moment crossing under the Arch, along brilliantly colored mums lining the path.
The Charity 5K will run through downtown Hartford. Expect a fast race for competitive runners that also welcomes casual runners and walkers to accomplish goals finishing under the arch.
Those looking for a fun way to get in on the action together with others can enjoy the Team 26.2 Relay with options for 2-5 team members to run in legs along the marathon course.
A memorable experience awaits, commemorated with custom, high quality race shirts and finisher medals.

Saint John’s Episcopal Church

Works by Schubert, Gryc, and Brahms
Originally written as a single movement for another piece, “Notturno” is a work of nuanced beauty. This gem of a composition by the sublime lyricist Franz Schubert opens our 2026-27 season. “Dances and Nocturnes” was commissioned by New World in 1989 from Hartt composer Steven Gryc. Each of the seven fanciful movements can be considered “night music”, the dances being “dreams of dances”. The addition of a viola adds richness and depth to the overall texture, creating a “contemporary classic” piano quartet. Brahms’ op.8 trio was first written as a youthful composer of 21 and revised thirty-five years later, shortly before his death. This imposing, expansive work remains a cornerstone of the chamber music repertoire. Its classical structure combined with romantic expressionism certainly fits the weltgeist of Beethoven. “ Autumn Reflections” is being given in memory of William E Fuller.

After Multiple Sold-Out Performances in West Hartford, Parlor of Impossibilities is back!
Some evenings entertain you.
Others stay with you.
After a string of sold-out performances, Parlor of Impossibilities is back in West Hartford for an intimate theatrical experience unlike anything else in Connecticut.
Created by Las Vegas headliner Jason Bird, this isn't a traditional magic show. It's an elegant evening of mystery, psychology, impossible coincidences, and astonishing demonstrations of human perception, performed just feet from the audience in an intimate parlor setting.
With only 60 guests admitted to each performance, every reaction matters. Every impossible moment happens in full view. There are no camera tricks, no stooges, and nowhere for the impossible to hide.
For more than two decades, Jason Bird performed over 9,000 shows in Las Vegas, entertained more than one million people worldwide, and has appeared on television, including Fox, NBC's America's Got Talent, the CW's Masters of Illusion, and Penn & Teller: Fool Us. But Parlor of Impossibilities is the show he's always wanted to create: sophisticated, immersive, thought-provoking, and unforgettable.
Guests don't simply leave asking, "How did he do that?"
They leave questioning what they know about wonder, illusion, the human mind, and the nature of reality itself.
Whether you're planning an unforgettable date night, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for something extraordinary, this is an evening you'll be talking about long after the final curtain.
Only 60 seats are available for each performance. Shows at 4pm & 7pm.

Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Join us for a presentation by a leading scholar of early America about the legacy of the Declaration of Independence.
In this talk, historian Michael D. Hattem asks: why have Americans developed such an emotional connection to the nation’s founding for nearly 250 years? He will discuss the importance of how generations of Americans have told the story of the Revolution, how politics have shaped how the Revolution has been remembered, and how Americans have fought over the meanings and legacy of the Revolution for nearly 250 years. In doing so, he will explain why the American Revolution has had such a unique place in the nation’s politics and culture.
Be sure to come early before the event to browse our special exhibition, Rebellious, which reflects on moments throughout Connecticut history when its people came together, pushed back, and sparked change to pursue their own visions of life, liberty, and happiness in America.
This event is presented in partnership with the Association for the Study of Connecticut History (ASCH) and is free to attend for ASCH members! To learn more about ASCH, visit their website.

It’s time for some sweet competition! Connecticut’s Old State House is pleased to host its 5th Annual Election Cake Bake Off. Connecticut pastry chefs and bakers will go whisk to whisk to have their confection crowned the official Connecticut Election Cake of 2026.
Election Day in Connecticut once combined voting with parties, libations, parades, and cake! Stores sold special Election Cake ingredients to women who transformed them into spice cakes to serve to the crowds gathered to celebrate voting at the State House and other sites. Help us revive this long-lost Connecticut tradition! “Election Day Cakes are a great Connecticut tradition—and a sweet reminder that voting is something to celebrate with both pride and community spirit,” says Stephanie Thomas, Secretary of the State. “I’m especially excited to join our Kid Governor and Cabinet. Their passion for civic engagement and cake judging skills make them the perfect partners for this delicious celebration.”
Connecticut’s Old State House has invited professional pastry chefs and bakers to create the official Connecticut Election Cake for 2026. Each competitor is challenged to create a delectable, non-partisan, election-themed cake that inspires voters and celebrates American democracy.
Bring a date or bring the family and help our panel of judges vote on presentation, creativity, and taste!.
