Duo Laroo/Byrd
Saskia Laroo is an internationally known trumpet player from Amsterdam, who also plays bass and sax. Her musical styles range from jazz to dance, and from world to pop. She has released six CDs with electric and acoustic music on Laroo Records. She performs globally with her own formations or as a special guest.
A native of Hartford, CT and resident of Amsterdam, Warren Byrd is an Afro-American jazz pianist, vocalist and composer. He performs live and tours as a solo pianist and vocalist with his own band: the Byrdspeak Ensemble. Warren is co-leader with Jewish bassist and composer David Chevan of the Afro-Semitic Experience, as well as with Dutch trumpeter and composer Saskia Laroo in Duo Laroo/Byrd.
Underwater Kite is not your average Connecticut art gallery. In fact, it's not an average gallery anywhere. Fully unique and in a class all its own, UWK is the brainchild of artist and curator, Antony Zito working in partnership with Hartford’s “Artists in Real Time”, the nonprofit organization run by Cynthia Bulaong. Zito’s vibrant and diverse curatorial style brings a decidedly urban and edgy lilt to Windsor. 
Come early and view the current exhibition, “Tar &amp; Feathers” featuring over 100 artworks by 78 artists. It's full of deft humor, emotional depth, vibrant intellect, skillful craft and surprising moments - the perfect environment for summer evenings of jazz.

The Michael Carabello Quintet is a collective of musicians with deep roots in black American music (jazz) and the musical culture of Hartford. The band draws inspiration from artists and bands such as Jackie McLean’s Dynasty Band, Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters, Marc Cary’s Focus Trio, Ahmad Jamal Trio, and Wayne Shorter’s Weather Report. This band draws musical knowledge from the masters of the music of Bebop, Hardbop, and Postbop and modernizes it with musical styles and technology of today. The Band consists of: Michael Carabello – Keyboards, Jonathon Barber- Drums, Matt Dwonszyk- Bass, Tony Davis- Guitar, and Jordan Young- Alto Saxophone.

Join Joe Lenoce of Connecticut Valley Mycological Society in search of mushrooms at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Joe will discuss the basic types of fungi, where to find them, and proper methods of collecting. Participants will then head out to search for mushrooms in the ornamental foreground.
The program concludes with Joe reviewing documentation resources while identifying any fungi collected.
Appropriate shoes and basket or paper bag for collecting recommended.

Each race participant will earn a short sleeve technical shirt. After the race, enjoy grab and go snacks and fresh fruit in the cove.
