Baldwin Wallace University, Berea OH

  • James Frazier of Bloomfield was part of the outstanding cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University who, under the direction of James Beaudry, breathed new life into Cole Porter's classic musical masterpiece "Anything Goes." Frazier, a graduate of Glastonbury High School majoring in music theatre, was part of the ensemble in the production.

  • A number of civic-minded students from Eastern Connecticut State University are serving the community this spring semester as Student Leaders with Eastern's Center for Community Engagement (CCE). A student leader is an experienced student volunteer who has been hired and trained by the CCE to recruit, train and manage volunteers, serve as a liaison with community partners, and plan and run service programs. Among the student leaders are Italo Bucca of Hartford, who majors in Sociology and oversees the Barrows STEM Academy after school program and the Windham Middle School after-school program; Anamel DeLeon of East Hartford, who majors in Finance and oversees the Sweeney Elementary School after-school program, the Windham Heights after-school program and the Windham Middle School In-School Tutorial program; and Sean Hurley of East Hartford, who majors in Physical Education and oversees the Windham Middle School after-school program and health and wellness program.
  • After a 2017 campaign marred with injury, the Eastern Connecticut State University baseball team is looking to return to championship form. After a disappointing 21-16 finish this past season, head coach Matt LaBranche is hoping this year's team will show the maturity and consistency needed to capture the program's third Little East Conference (LEC) Championship in the past five years. Among the students playing for this year's team are Merlyn Herrera of Hartford, who majors in Business Administration.
