Capital Prep Remains Atop Girls Basketball Poll

Despite an out-of-state loss Sunday, the Trailblazers still are the top choice among Connecticut sportswriters.

HARTFORD, CT — Capital Prep retained its position atop the girls basketball polls in the latest weekly balloting by members of the Connecticut sports media.

Despite a Sunday loss to powerful Rutgers Prep in New Jersey, the Trailblazers continue to dominate state teams, winning every in-state regular season game for more than five years.

Here are the top 10 teams with records through Jan. 8.
