Join Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 am for the new thematic tour, The Prosecution Rests. From the assassination of President Garfield to the crimes that inspired the movie "Arsenic and Old Lace," we will share intriguing stories of sensational trials, tragic crimes and even one unsolved mystery, all of which gripped the imagination of Connecticut residents on this walking tour of the cemetery. Cedar Hill Cemetery is located at 453 Fairfield Avenue in Hartford. Admission to the program is $5.00 and free for Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members. Advanced reservations are not required. The tour begins at the flagpole at the end of the entrance drive. We’re excited to invite students in&nbsp;grades 4–7&nbsp;to campus for&nbsp;S.P.A.R.K.—a free, hands-on&nbsp;morning of discovery&nbsp;at Kingswood Oxford on&nbsp;Saturday, May 16.
S.P.A.R.K.&nbsp;stands for&nbsp;Science. Play. Action. Research. Knowledge,&nbsp;and that’s exactly what the morning is all about. Students will dive into interactive labs, ask big questions, and explore how science connects to the world around them.
Throughout the morning, students will rotate through all three engaging sessions:
Snack Science: Cracking the Code of Carbs, Fats &amp; Proteins
Students will test everyday foods to uncover the building blocks of life - carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.
From Cabbage to Chemistry: A Color-Changing Exploration of pH
Using red cabbage as a natural indicator, students will experiment with acids and bases and watch chemistry come alive in vibrant color.
Air Apparent: The Invisible Force All Around Us
Through hands-on experiments, students will explore the properties of air—and discover just how powerful something invisible can be.
