College Notes - Greater Hartford Students

GREATER HARTFORD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY

• A pair of students from Hartford have been named to the Marist College Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. Corinne Florian is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in Communication, and Hasion Gaston is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in Social Work.

Monroe College, Bronx NY

• Monroe College, a national leader in educating urban and international students, held its 85th annual Commencement on June 13, 2018 at Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan. The College conferred 450 Master's degrees; 1,095 Bachelor's degrees; and 1,036 Associate degrees this year, as well as awarded 50 professional certificates. Oladapo Adeboye, of East Hartford, graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Business Management. Jaylyn Jenkins, of Hartford, graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration. Mark Lurry, of East Hartford, graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration. Zana Roberts, of Bloomfield, graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administrationistration in Accounting. Andreina Rodriguez, of Hartford, graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting.

Plymouth State University, Plymouth NH

• 820 students, including Dat Tran of East Hartford, have been named to the Plymouth State University President's List for the spring 2018 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

• Ryan J. Poole of Bloomfield was among more than 1,650 students named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2018 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Poole is a senior counseling and human services major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies.
