Controversial East Hartford Mortgage Lender Shuts Down
A mortgage lending company in a battle with the Department of Banking has announced it will close.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford mortgage lender in a protracted battle with the Department of Banking will close Friday, according to The Hartford Business Journal. 1st Alliance Lending, headquartered in Founders Plaza, only has five remaining employees out of 178.
An investigation into the company was launched last year. The allegations includes mortgage lending violations such as the use of unlicensed call center workers to pursue sales leads.
