HARTFORD, CT — As Gov. Ned Lamont has set restrictions based on large gatherings, arts organizations are trying to figure out how they can survive following a wave of cancellations, according to a Hartford Business Journal report. Cynthia Rider, managing director of the nonprofit Hartford Stage, said the organization is "in existential trouble."

Hartford Stage has canceled its current run of "Jane Eyre" and its next play "The King's Speech." Performances and events at The Bushnell and Wadsworth Atheneum have also been canceled, according to The Hartford Business Journal, leaving organizations in lean financial times.
