Crash Causes Serious Injuries, Closes Hartford Interchange

HARTFORD, CT — A crash on a Hartford highway interchange is causing traffic headaches for motorists Tuesday afternoon, with state police reporting serious injuries.

According to the State Department of Transportation, the accident occurred on Route 15 North at the Exit 89 ramp to Interstate 91 North.

As a result, that highway has been closed, according to Connecticut State Police.

The accident was first reported at 2:05 p.m. and it is still "unknown" when it will be cleared.

Police said motorists should avoid the area.

"We are currently unable to anticipate the duration of this closure. Please seek alternate routes and plan for traffic delays," wrote state police via "X" (formerly Twitter).
