Update: Crashes All Cleared On I-84 In Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — Interstate 84 was a veritable motorist nightmare Thursday in Hartford as a total of three separate accidents in the same spot snarled traffic there.

The latest crash is on I-84 west between exits 50 and 48, resulted in the left lane being closed.

This accident was reported at about 10:50 a.m. and it has, since, been cleared, according to the state Department of Transportation.

It was the third such crash that impacted commuters Thursday on I-84 west in Hartford.

Earlier Thursday morning, two serious accidents in approximately the same area had traffic backed up in Hartford — both of them now cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, an initial two-vehicle accident was reported on I-84 west between exits 50 and 48.

The accident, first reported at 9:41 a.m., had resulted in the left and right lanes being closed.

A few minutes after the first crash, the DOT reported a second accident in that area of I-84 west, a three-vehicle accident that was first reported at 9:48 a.m.

That crash, according to the DOT, was cleared by 10:35 a.m., with the third accident of the morning there reported 15 minutes after this one was cleared.
