Crashes Cleared On I-84 In Hartford: UPDATE

HARTFORD, CT — Separate crashes on Interstate 84 in Hartford Monday afternoon caused problems for motorists, according to the state Department of Transportation, but they have now been cleared.

The DOT reports the first, multi-vehicle accident was on I-84 East between exits 48 and 49, resulting in the closure of the right lane.

Because of the accident, the DOT reported I-84 Eastbound is congested between Exits 43 and 49, with traffic backed 3.4 miles.

The wreck was first reported at 2:23 p.m. and it appears to have been cleared.

At 3:15 p.m., however, the DOT reports another accident on I-84 East between exits 48 and 49, resulting in the closure of the right lane again.

That accident, as of about 3:26 p.m., appears to have been cleared as it is no longer listed on the DOT's incident report.
