CT DMVs to Issue Thousands of Emissions Test Late Fees
If your car was late getting an emissions test in the past year, you may be charged even if you no longer own it.

If you have recently bought a new car, you may still have one more payment to make on your old one.
The Department of Motor Vehicles will be issuing emissions test late fees on vehicles dating back as far as August 2015, according to their website.
The agency had recently stopped issuing late fees due to installation of a new computer system. For customer convenience, they also kept the temporary stop until completing a review of vehicle and late-fee data.

Fees can be disputed by phone or in person at a DMV office. The fees, however, will not interfere with registration renewals.
