CT's first indoor social equity cultivation facility now open

Fine Fettle has opened Connecticut’s first indoor social equity cultivation facility. The 46,000-square-foot facility from FFD 149, LLC, is in Bloomfield, Connecticut. This state-of-the-art cultivation and production operation is the first indoor cultivator to receive final licensure under Section 149 of the state’s adult-use cannabis program.

Section 149 cultivator licenses, also known as Disproportionately Impacted Cultivator Licenses, are part of Connecticut's efforts to promote social equity in the state’s cannabis industry. They are designed explicitly to encourage cultivators to locate in areas disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs.

“Constructed by union labor, this advanced facility underscores our dedication to community investment, sustainability, and excellence in cannabis cultivation and production,” says Kennard Ray, CEO of Fine Fettle’s social equity licenses. “To situate it within one of Connecticut’s designated Disproportionate Impacted Areas reflects our company’s ongoing efforts to foster social equity and economic opportunity in communities most affected by past cannabis prohibitions.”

Fine Fettle will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the spring with representatives from Bloomfield, members of the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce, and representatives of the building trades union.
