Dozens Injured After Deck Collapses at Off-Campus Trinity College House Party: UPDATE

Close to 30 people were injured when the deck collapsed late Saturday but none of the injuries were considered serious.

HARTFORD, CT — Twenty-eight people were hospitalized late Saturday after a three-story deck collapsed at an off-campus Trinity College house party, said Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley.

Police said none of the injuries are considered serious and a broken bone would be among the worst of the injuries sustained. The deck collapsed at 11 p.m. Saturday at 1715 Broad Street in Hartford, Fox 61 reports.

Foley told Fox 61 that the decks were old, heavy and deteriorated and that the situation and injuries to the students could have been much worse. Alcohol was being consumed on all three floors of the house, reports state.
