Early-Morning Inferno Displaces Residents Of Multi-Family Hartford Building: HFD
Hartford firefighters battled the intense 2 a.m. fire on Monday, with one resident injured.
HARTFORD, CT — A spectacular, pre-dawn fire at a multi-family home in Hartford’s Clay Arsenal neighborhood sent one resident to the hospital and displaced occupants early Monday, according to the City of Hartford Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to 19 East St. at about 2:09 a.m. for reports of a structure fire.
When crews arrived, they encountered heavy fire in an occupied multi-family building, the HFD said.

Firefighters entered the building and conducted primary searches on all floors to ensure all residents were safely out.
The fire was later brought under control, with crews remaining on scene to continue operations.

One resident was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of minor injuries, firefighters said.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.
The department’s Special Services Unit is working with the American Red Cross to assist residents displaced by the fire.
