Early Release Inmate Charged in East Hartford Home Invasion
The man had been let out of prison seven months prior to his originally scheduled release date.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — A man accused of sexually assaulting and robbing a woman in her East Hartford home last month had been let out of prison seven months earlier than scheduled due to Connecticut's early release program, WFSB-TV reported.
Edwin Glass, 35, had been sentenced to five years in prison for a 2011 armed robbery in Hartford, but was set free in late July, more than seven months prior to his scheduled release date of March 2017, the station reported.
Glass has pleaded not guilty to charges of home invasion, first-degree robbery and fourth-degree sexual assault in connection to the Sept. 4 incident in East Hartford, according to judicial records. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bond, and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court Oct. 12.
