East Hartford Boys Volleyball Opening Tournament at Home

EAST HARTFORD, CT — As brackets for the CIAC boys volleyball championships were released Friday morning, East Hartford High School found itself beginning its quest for its first state title with a home match.

The Hornets are the fourth seed in Class L, and will open the tournament by hosting No. 13 Glastonbury Wednesday.

The top seeds for the two state tournaments are Staples (Class L) and Newington (Class M).

Here are the opening matchups for teams from schools in Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties. Click the class headers for complete brackets.

Class L

1st Round - May 30

• No. 13 Glastonbury at No. 4 East Hartford
• No. 12 Shelton at No. 5 Southington
• No. 10 Cheshire at No. 7 Hall
• No. 11 Enfield at No. 6 Darien

Class M

1st Round - May 30

• No. 1 Newington, bye
• No. 5 South Windsor, bye
• No. 9 Daniel Hand at No. 8 Farmington
• No. 10 Wethersfield at No. 7 Rockville
