EAST HARTFORD, CT — Jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney will lay off employees due to a lack of demand related to the pandemic, The Hartford Business Journal reported. The number of layoffs was not announced, but a Pratt executive said the company's moves will be in line with others in the industry.

A month ago, Pratt & Whitney's parent company, Massachusetts-based Raytheon Technologies Corp., said it would lay off 15,000 employees in its commercial aerospace and corporate divisions.
