East Hartford Man, 46, Guilty Of Sexually Assalting Minor: State
A 46-year-old East Hartford man was found guilty last week in state court for sexually assaulting a minor multiple times from 2011 to 2018.
EAST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford man has been found guilty for sexually assaulting a minor several times, according to state authorities.
Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford State’s Attorney, said Monday a a jury in Hartford Superior Court last week found Asbel Rivera, 46, of East Hartford, guilty of first-degree sexual assault; three counts of second-degree sexual assault; fourth-degree sexual assault; and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.
According to evidence introduced at trial, Rivera had sexually assaulted a minor multiple times between 2011 and 2018, Walcott said.

The victim later disclosed the sexual assaults to a boyfriend and her boyfriend’s mother, who helped the victim report the sexual assaults to the police, she said.
Rivera will be sentenced Nov. 14 in Hartford Superior Court.
