As a result, officials said Fullerton was arrested by warrant following an investigation by the East Hartford Police Department.
Walcott acknowledged "the bravery of the victim in coming forward, the hard work of prosecutors who presented the case, and the attentive jurors who worked conscientiously to reach an appropriate verdict."
She said the successful prosecution of this crime was a team effort.
“We must hold accountable perpetrators of sexual violence who victimize the most vulnerable members of our society,” Walcott said. “This prosecution shows the kind of dedication that is essential in seeking justice for survivors.”
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorneys Terence D. Mariani, Jr. and Elena Palermo of the Statewide Prosecution Bureau in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, with the assistance of Inspector Emory Hightower and support staff from the Hartford State’s Attorney’s Office.
